The hotel's decoration was absolutely charming, with a cozy and traditional Japanese feel. The tatami flooring and futon beds were perfect for a comfortable and restful stay for senior people. The general areas of the hotel were spotless and well-maintained, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, the hotel's accessibility for senior people was remarkable, with easy access to all areas of the hotel and thoughtful amenities provided to ensure a comfortable stay.
I would have appreciated more assistance from the children working there for senior people who may need extra support during their vacation.

The value for money was excellent and the room was cozy and comfortable. The location was great, with an amazing view of Mount Fuji and a short walk to the Chureito Pagoda. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, providing us with a map and recommendations for local restaurants and shops.
The only thing that could have been better about breakfast was the variety of options.

Everything was perfect - from the beautiful and comfortable rooms to the friendly and helpful staff. the hostel is located in a quiet area with stunning views of Fujisan. We loved renting bikes and exploring the nearby lakes, surrounded by nature's beauty. the hostel even provided a tourism map with walking and cycling routes. the kitchen had a great selection of teas, and we enjoyed a cup while relaxing. Saruya exceeded our expectations and was the best hostel we stayed at in Japan. Cons: Nothing, all excellent! 👌.

The hostel was cosy, pretty, and felt like a cabin getaway. The staff were friendly and greeted us everyday. The facilities were abundant, including an onsen, convenience store, and cafes nearby. The breakfast was simple but good, with homemade granola and a variety of Japanese tea. The design of the hostel, with antique furniture and wood accents, stood out.
Cannot find any fault.

my recent stay in fujiyoshida was amazing, but my stay at saruya was even better. the staff were so friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations and even lending me a poncho when it rained. the hostel had a cool hipster vibe with comfy tatami beds and a coffee machine.
Noise from the road was a bit bothersome.

We had a fantastic stay at Saruya! The old Japanese-style room in the main building was cozy and private, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The property itself is beautifully designed, and we felt like we were experiencing the taste of old Japanese life. The location was convenient, with the train station just a short 10-minute walk through the town. From there, it was just a couple more stops to reach the lake. One of the highlights of our stay was the recommendation from the hostel for a nearby restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious and hearty Japanese meal served by a hospitable couple. And of course, waking up to the stunning view of Mt. Fuji right outside Saruya made our stay even more memorable. We would definitely return to this lovely hostel in the future!
Nothing to complain about at all. 😊

The hostel was beautifully decorated and had a warm and inviting atmosphere. the staff were friendly and helpful, providing great restaurant recommendations. the location was fantastic, with stunning views of Mt. Fuji and close proximity to a famous pagoda and the option to rent bikes to explore the nearby lakes.
The thin walls in the hostel made it quite noisy, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep, even with earplugs. This was a downside and something that would make me hesitate to book again in the future.
